You Are Being Held

God is Holding You!

Have you ever paused and thought about why you haven't succumbed to your situation although things are rough and tough and challenging? That's simply because YOU  ARE  BEING  HELD  BY  THE  MASTER!

A USA reader that responded to one of these devotionals just this week reminded me of this fact when he made this statement via email. "It's not so much that I am holding on, but rather that I am constantly held, by the everlasting arms."

I had to conclude how much of a truism that was.

Friend, I want you to spend the next thirty seconds thinking back on the many challenges you've faced already. 1 . . . 2. . .  .3. . .   Now that you've thought, hasn't God always delivered or provided some type of solution? Yes he has! It may not be just what we wanted and how we wanted it, but WE  WERE  HELD  BY  JESUS  and  delivered.

Do you remember when you needed a financial breakthrough? God sent it just in time - right? What makes you feel he won't do it again?

Do you remember when you were in deep distress over some sought of illness? What happened? You prayed. You asked others to pray. Today you or your loved one are much healthier.

We can go on and on. The point that I am raising here is that you are alive and making it day by day, week by week, month by month and year by year because GOD  IS  HOLDING  YOU!

When ever we don't want something precious to break, we hold it ourselves. God doesn't want anything to happen to you, so. . . HE'S  HOLDING  YOU  HIMSELF!

The Psalmist provides much comfort in Psalm 91:3-4. He says, (paraphrased) no matter what you are going through. No matter the storm or trial that you face. No matter the trap that has been set up for you by those around you - YOUR  HATERS - YOUR  ENEMIES - YOUR FRENEMIES. Fear Not! God will deliver.

Friend. . . some of the best encouragement I can give you, I'll pull from the scripture under review.  

1. God shall deliver you from all snares or plans of the enemy

2. You shall be delivered from the noisome pestilence

3. You shall be covered by his feathers, and sheltered under his wings

4. God's truth shall be your shield and buckler.

After such wonderful promises, I believe deep within my heart for sure, that I  AM  BEING  HELD. So to, are YOU!

God Is Right In The Fire With You

24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counselors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. 25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.  (Daniel 3:24-25 KJV)

God is right there with you!

In the passage of scripture under review today, three men who were devoted to God and his work were immediately sentenced by the king. They were sentenced to die by burning in the fiery furnace. This was one of the harshest sentences back then. It was just as cruel and inhumane as beheading or stoning to death.

All three had made up in their minds that they were not going to bow to any false God because that was against their belief. When hundreds of others bowed, they remained firm, strong and upright and this infuriated the king and I'm sure others would have just seen it as a light thing to bow to a false God. Having been questioned by the king, they had concluded whether on not their God would deliver, they were NEVER going to bow.

"Cast them into the furnace!" commanded the King, "heat it seven times hotter." Bible history tells us that the flames were so hot, that some of the men ordered to cast them in were slain in the process. Daniel 3:22 Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

I love what happens shortly after they were thrown into the fiery furnace. A fourth man - GOD makes his presence known and the one responsible for the inhumane act towards God's people IMMEDIATELY recognizes who the fourth man was. Proof that FOUR men were now in the fire was plain to see. It could have never been challenged by anyone. Hallelujah!

You may be in your Fiery Furnace now. Your situation may seem to be so hot that you feel like just succumbing to the flames and giving in. Please don't! You must have FAITH like that of the Three Hebrew Boys in our story today, that God Will Definitely Deliver Soon.

When you hold on to that mustard seed faith, have no doubt in your mind that there will be a SECOND person joining you in your Furnace for ONE purpose only - that is to DELIVER.

Don't give up! HOPE  IS  AHEAD!

It Will All Change SUDDENLY

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. (Acts 16:25-26 KJV)

Friend, I know that you, like me, wish that we could get an IMMEDIATE answer to some of our troubles TODAY. We wish that all the time - Don't we?

Hang On! Hang Tight! Don't Give Up! Stay Trusting! God will come through for you SUDDENLY. SUDDENLY, in his time.

I want you to know today that we each have varying problems and God knows ALL about them. He knows about the sicknesses, he knows about the family troubles, he knows that you don't have a job, he knows about your marital issues, he knows about the problems in your love life, he knows about your financial difficulties, YES  HE  KNOWS.

It is my belief that God allows us to go through the pain and suffering but for a moment to test our faithfulness and dependence on him.  Those who depend more on him, get their deliverance FASTER than those who have LITTLE  OR  NO  FAITH.

As much as we think that we are at our lowest, none of us have been ever placed down into a lion's den or locked up in prison, HANDS  AND  FEET bound. If these men who loved the Lord so much had to go through such pain and suffering before being promoted, what do we expect?

I know, I know. You've probably looked up to God just now and said, please don't take me there Lord. I did too. The point I am trying to draw out here is this. All we have to do is to stay trusting and remain faithful to God and he will cause things to CHANGE  SUDDENLY!

Even when a law was setup to get Daniel killed because he was praying to the one true and living God, he didn't get scared and stop praying to HIM. He didn't start crying or try to migrate. Daniel remained faithful and true. He threw back his windows and prayed openly to God still. He knew that his God would deliver. Even when they arrested him and carried out the King's order to throw those who disobeyed into the lion's den, Daniel was at peace.

Note this: In the morning, THINGS  CHANGED  SUDDENLY. Daniel was not only saved, but he was promoted. His enemies who had him setup to be killed, were wiped off of the face of the earth. Them and their families. (Becareful what you do and say about God's People, for you and your generation may probably suffer for it. There is nothing wrong about condemning the wrong that God's people do, but never try to slow them or stop them from doing God's work or from serving him or you might just GET  A  CURSE  ON  YOUR  LIFE.)

Let's look at Paul and Silas.

The same thing happened with them. They were locked up for spreading the gospel. Even at their lowest in prison, they were not afraid. They sang praises unto God and prayed. They never lost faith that their God would deliver and would deliver SUDDENLY. Look at what happens.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. (Act s16:26 KJV)

God delivered SUDDENLY!

Friend, your SUDDEN and MIRACULOUS  DELIVERY is coming soon too. God can take care of ANY and EVERY  PROBLEM. Just keep praying and singing and trusting. Hope is Ahead for you!

God did it back then and he is still well able to do it today!

You Were Built To Succeed

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2 KJV)

You were built to succeed!

When God took time out of his schedule to hand craft you into the beautiful princess or handsome prince that you are now, he added a special touch of SUCCESS to the 'clay-mix.' He knew that your hair would be brown or black or blond. He knew that you would always have a great smile. He knew that your humble personality would take you places. He knew it.

You were never RUSHED OFF during the making process. God took his time with you. I like how the Psalmist puts it in Psalm 139:14, I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

What does that verse mean? Each of us was uniquely created - Full Stop.

Don't let anyone speak down to you or tell you otherwise. When they do, simply smile and remark - "I'm God's Gem - He Took His Time on Me!"

Many of the children and youth to whom I minister always tease me and try to touch the little patch in the middle of my head that would probably soon go bald. They laugh and say - Brother Khrystus, you need BOSLEY. I would respond in return with a smile and say - It's one thing I know for sure though, is that I'm fearfully and wonderfully made.

I always try to show them by example that no matter what anyone says about them, they should still remain confident and aim for SUCCESS.

I believe that John, in writing in 3 John 1: 2, wanted to convey two messages to those around.

1. They should aim to PROSPER in both their SPIRITUAL and PHYSICAL LIFE

2. They should aim to always keep their SPIRITUAL and PHYSICAL LIFE  HEALTHY.

You see, John knew for sure that God has implanted in each one of us, unique talents and gifts for us to use and succeed in life. Some of us use them and gradually climb the ladder to success, while others sit on them and remain in one spot all their life!

God wants the best for you. He wants you to succeed. He actually gave you the tools to do just that? Are they packed up on the shelf or are you using them.

We all may not travel far and wide to attend university. We certainly aren't all inventors and business owners. Everyone won't be a doctor or lawyer. Everyone won't sing in the choir. We all can't bake nice bread like my mother (smile). We all aren't salespersons. But. . . each of us is uniquely gifted with a talent that can help us SUCCEED.

May we together remain HOPEFUL that one day soon - we'll bask in the sunset of success and praise God for guiding us there!

HOPE  IS  AHEAD!

REJOICE

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. (Matthew 5:11-12 KJV)

Still rejoice!

After a session with a mature lady some time ago, we both agreed that her situation needed some devoted and consistent prayer for only God could make the difference. She seemed to have half the world on her back and all the planets too. After that particular HOPE  SESSION, I wondered why God had called me to serve in this area of ministry, motivation and counseling.

I felt like doing a JONAH - running away for a while and changing plans all together. There must be something easier and probably more rewarding than sitting and listening to everyone's issues and praying and encouraging them to go on I thought. I thought about pursuing my first dream of becoming a medical doctor. Then I said to myself, God would end up sending me on Medical Missions. I just felt like whoa - I need to change plans. (That was the flesh not wanting me to fulfill God's call on my life) The spirit is usually willing but the flesh weak (Matthew 26:41)

The very same lady with whom I held that session, happened to be in the very same church service that I had to preach at the following Sunday. Her actions during the worship gave me a life lesson. It pulled me up and made me regret my thoughts too.

REJOICE  even in the midst of your worst circumstance!

She was singing and dancing and giving her best praise in the middle of her worst situation. I know that she was being reviled and persecuted and talked about, but she was praising still. She seemed to have one thing in mind and one thing only. It was not her problems down here on earth but her REWARD in  HEAVEN!

Many persons in Bible times went through hard times too. I believe that's why the writer wrote that particular verse in Matthew 5 to encourage.  Many persons from decades ago had to live through trying times and even today. Are you one struggling to make it day by day?

Friend, what ever we all are facing now isn't anything new. Like the lady in our scenario today, let's Praise Still. Let's Glorify God Still! Let's Rejoice Still! Let's HOPE Still!

One day our mourning will definitely be turned into DANCING and our grief into JOY.
