I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5 KJV)
As I sat at the airport in St. Kitts today, I heard one of the airlines paging a Mitchum and Eddy as a final boarding call to catch the Liat dash 8 service to Antigua with onward connections.
The agent was reminding them that that was their last chance - last opportunity to board that flight to their destination.
What a privilege! A few years ago, I learnt of a man who said, if I knew where I was to die, I'd never go there. I agreed with him too. Nice thinking I thought. Then, I smiled and commented, since I don't know where I'd die and when I'd die, I'll just ensure that I'm always ready to meet my maker - Jesus Christ.
Friend, death doesn't give final boarding calls like airline agents. The death angel won't say paging Wallace or Greene or Harris or Esdaille or Ward or . . .
It will just pass and take us. Just like that. In the twinkling of an eye.
If the gunshot or stabwound victim knew when and how they would die, I'm pretty sure they would have accepted Jesus Christ before they died. I really don't know if I'd make it to my destination today via the aircraft, but there's one thing I know for sure, is that if I die, I'm going to heaven. Where are you going?
The book of Luke says. I tell ye nay, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

This message has blessed my heart and has given a reminder again of the importance of always being in a state of readiness. A similar word I blogged today that somehow connects with this and that is "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned." (John 15:6) God less you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm ALWAYS TRULY BLESSED by these devotionals. Thank u much:)
