Fly The FLAG Of JESUS

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. (2 Corinthians 2:14 KJV)

Don't surrender - Don't Retreat!

He stepped into my office in shambles. I had never dealt with a 'big man' crying like a baby. Why did he come to see me I thought. Try a seasoned and mature Pastor or Counselor. I'm only 25 years. You can be my father. Maybe even my grandfather. Let me deal with the youth I said to myself. I quickly pulled myself together, patted him on the shoulder gently and said, "It's quite OK to cry, you will pass this test."

My first words of comfort calmed the tears a bit and I waited a while for him to talk. He did share much of what was on his heart and then I spoke again. I said, "Sir, in order for there to be a DIFFERENCE in your life, you need to FLY  THE  FLAG  OF  JESUS." I explained in detail what I meant.

In talking with the gentleman, it was clear to see that he had tried nearly everything and everyone in his life, but had excluded JESUS.

I ended the HOPE session by saying, "JESUS  WOULD  MAKE  THE  DIFFERENCE SIR -  HE  SURE  WOULD." He decided to give him a try there and then. I was excited within my spirit. My only wish was that our ministry would have had our Dare 2 Be Different International Mission Centre already, so he could have spent a few days there until we could help him have a change from his current environment.

This touched my spirit and injected me with a new energy to do all that I can, to get this effort and vision off the ground. I thought for a moment and remembered the words of Martin Luther King as he addressed hundreds in his I HAVE A DREAM  SPEECH. I saw what he meant when he spoke about  THE  URGENCY  OF  NOW

What if I can get my HOPE  IS  AHEAD readers and others to commit to sewing a $20.12 seed in 2012 towards this effort, I thought. We would have our mission centre quite quickly.

I shook my head and thought again.

This is why so many people start running the Christian race and stop. This is why many Try Jesus and Let Go. Simply because there is no dedicated support. Many get left behind by busy church ministers and members who are caught up in activities rather than in shepherding new converts.

I'm sure you fully understand what I mean.

Dare 2 Be Different MUST  CHANGE  THAT  - I vowed to myself. We MUST show that there is WORTH in FLYING  THE  FLAG  OF  JESUS and living a SPIRITUAL - free spirit and open minded life and not be trapped by different RELIGIONS and RITUALS.

Sometime after, I could see the change in the gentleman. He was really trying and succeeding bit by bit. A scripture came to me from 2 Corinthians 2:14, Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ.

In that particular passage, Paul was excited that God had been with him every step of the way as he advanced the Kingdom of God. He would have seen how the church at Corinth was FLYING THE FLAG OF JESUS and had heeded to his letters and teachings and he was sure that he can now move on to build again.

Jesus ALWAYS makes the difference in one's life. He did so in the gentleman's life. He did so in the lives of the Corinthians and he can do so in your life. Decide to follow Jesus and FLY  HIS  FLAG  BOLDLY from today.

When you do, rest assured that you will be well taken care of in good times and bad and you need not be afraid. Isaiah 41:13 says For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

With such care in store for YOU. Don't risk it - FLY  THE  FLAG  OF  JESUS  FROM  TODAY!

Let The Haters Motivate You

And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor. (Luke 20:20 KJV)

Let the haters motivate you to succeed!

He had walked all the way from the city area, about three miles to see me. He didn't drive or take the bus. He explained that he was so tense inside that he believed the cool walk would have helped to relieve the pressure inside. The gentleman was happy to have someone to talk with. He wanted to just let out.

Having listened to him, I could see that he was at his peak pressure point and I was happy that he came. Trying times on his job was causing all of this. He had recently returned from living overseas and was being quite innovative in making a difference at his place of employ. After he started being a difference maker, his co-workers took off their mouth speech and he started feeling a sense of negativity from his superior. He explained that his boss was probably threatened by the many commendations he was getting from his employers.

The gentleman was well qualified, ambitious and determined. I learned that during our conversation. I could see that he would reach very far in life. He was at the point of planning to exit his homeland again and fly back to the place where he had studied and worked for a while because, according to him, he never felt the negative vibes there.

Having listened to him, I said, "Friend, let your HATERS motivate you to succeed - to excel. From talking with you, I can see that you were not made to be around chickens and ostriches. Those can't fly. You're an EAGLE and EAGLES must SOAR the skies." He smiled.

I knew what he meant, for I sometimes feel the very same pressure, negativity, non support and jealously too at times in my life. In church work, business and politics. I feel it ALL  THE  TIME! I continued, "Thank God for your HATERS because I believe they help to create in us all a determination to PUSH  ON and EXCEL. Whatever your plans are, whether staying or leaving, NEVER  LET A  HATER  GET  YOU  DOWN. Put your plans in the Master's hands."

Daniel was hated. Joseph was hated. Paul was hated. Moses was hated. Even Jesus was hated too. In the passage of scripture above, this is ONE example of how his haters were trying to get Jesus into trouble and get the rid of him.

Thus, if even the one who we serve was hated and never gave up, WE  SHOULDN'T  EITHER. Don't Give Up - Don't Give In - Hope is Ahead. Sometimes God allows us to experience certain levels of pressure to push us into a NEW  REALM so we can receive the blessings He has for us and we can make our impact else where.

Remember Abram? God caused him to leave his fathers home and religion. He didn't know where he was going, but he believed God's word which said, "MOVE OUT! IF YOU MOVE, I WILL GREATLY BLESS YOU. In obedience, Abram never let what the haters said, keep him back from obeying God's instructions. Bible History tells us of the successful results of his move.

Again. Let the haters motivate you to succeed! Hope is Ahead! Don't Give Up! JESUS  LOVES YOU  TOO  MUCH!

Stick In There

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:20 KJV)

The sound from my phone gave me a wake up call. I had forgotten to put it to charge overnight, so it was next to me on the bed. While browsing through messages received overnight, a particular one commanded my attention. I sat up and began to encourage right away. This situation was desperate. At the end of my words, I encouraged the person to STICK  IN  THERE because God will take care.

We all face varying challenges. Some are bigger than others. Some we can deal with ourselves, others we need assistance. Some stress us for a short while and others bother us for long times. There is something that we must hold on to though. This is the fact that no matter how large or small our issues are, God is more than able to take care of all of them.

What excites me about the particular scripture under review today, is that God says that he will be with us always. He doesn't leave it there, but he underscores his statement by saying that his time with us spans unto the end of the world.

What does that mean? Jesus will never, ever, ever leave us. Let's be comforted in that fact and STICK  IN  THERE!

Did he leave Moses? Joseph? Joshua? Caleb? Peter? Paul? John? Abraham?

We can go on and on and on. Do you remember ever hearing anyone share their testimony of how God came through for them? Yes, I'm sure you have. God never left them. Thus, be comforted friend that He is the same yesterday, today and forever and no matter your struggle, God will be there for you.

Don't Give Up - Stick in There - Hope is Ahead!

Reflect On God's Goodness

O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. 2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD. (Psalm 117:1-2 KJV)

When last have you just paused, stopped complaining and just thought about God's Goodness?
During a conversation last night with an acquaintance on Facebook, I got thinking. I had asked the young lady what she was up to and her response was startling. She said, "I'm just here chilling and thinking about how good God has been to me."
Honestly, you really don't get much talk about God from young people whether online or offline. ESPECIALLY  FROM  LADIES. I commended her immediately. You see, each day we awake, we have a choice to make. We can either worry and stress about yesterday's happenings and the storms we have to face today or we can just relax and reflect on how good God has been to us over the past days, weeks, months, years.
While laying on my bed this morning, I was trying to figure out how I would deal with a particular matter today. Honestly, I started stressing a bit. My mind went back to many other challenges that I had previously and how God answered my prayer and helped EVERY TIME.
I immediately carried the matter to God's throne and did what he asks us all to do in 1st Peter 5:8, "Cast our cares on him." That is exactly what I encourage you to do today. Put every burden, every trial, every issue, every fear, every circumstance on Jesus today and leave them there.
God's merciful kindness has brought each of us to where we are today and will take us onward too. God's truth and Word never changes. God gives us many promises. Here is one in Hebrews 13: 5 I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
So, don't choose to stress and worry today. Instead, lift up your hands, heart and voice and just praise the Lord. Sing aloud. You can dance too. Nothing is wrong with rejoicing and praising God in the midst of your deepest trial. Paul and Silas did that and God came through for them. Their situation changed IMMEDIATELY. God still can provide instant, immediate and miraculous deliverances. Don't give up. Keep praising and trusting. Remember,  O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. (Psalm 117:1 KJV)
Hope is Ahead.

God Is Not Like That

Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. (Micah 7:5 KJV)

Has your heart been left in shambles because of some shocking act committed against you by a friend? I feel your pain. I know what it's like. I've been there OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER again. This is a great time to cling more to The Master because God is not like that.

I oft times have to encourage persons who've been tremendously hurt by someone they once considered a close friend, husband, wife or family member. These sessions are usually filled with much tears or on the contrary, ANGER.

I've had many personal situations like that to face during my life. Here's one. Sometime ago, as God would have it, my telephone rang. It was someone I considered a real good acquaintance. I repeatedly kept saying hello, but got no response. I assumed they were going to talk with me but was probably finishing a quick task.

I held on for a few more seconds. I then heard the voice of the person. They started talking, but NOT  TO  ME - but ABOUT ME. Some of the things I heard them saying in the conversation about me were shocking. They were properly occupied trying to tear my name apart. YES  I  HEARD  THE ENTIRE  CONVERSATION. I knew the person well and so I easily picked up some of the colleagues who were also engaged in the conversation. They say hello and smile with me each time they see me - even until TODAY and they don't know that I heard.

Having hung up. I wondered how I should behave after. Should I stop talking to them forever? Should I forgive them now or later? Should I tell them about it? Should I leave it there?

What would you do? I'm sure that our answers would vary.

Honestly, I had always heard preachers share about God being the truest friend ONLY, so I refused to let this situation bother me. I was reminded of the words in Micah 7:5, "Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide:

I had learned another life lesson and had decided that I'll TRY my best to just be as normal as possible even around them. Up to today, they still smile with me and greet me well and talk with me and they don't know that I know. TECHNOLOGY!!! Since I've started that practice, I've learned to make it a common part of my life. I've built my own guiding statement and try to live by it. "Even when others wrong me, talk bad about me and wish me bad, I should still bless them and be the best good Samaritan I could be."

Global reader, it was soon after developing that strategy, that I was reminded of  Romans 12:20,  "Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head."

If I had not learned to develop that strategy, the many occurrences of so called friendly disappointments would have turned me into an angry lad or crazy street roamer. So when I'm talked about negatively and I know who did the talking, I still act normally to them. You should too! Isn't that what the Bible says in Romans?

Still treat them like Kings and Queens! HEAP  UP  THE  COALS  OF  FIRE  ON  THEIR  HEADS!!! As you trod throughout life, expect daily, weekly, monthly, yearly SHOCKERS from those you consider close friends, family and co-workers. Don't hate them though.  Love Still!

Technology is a great tool. Once you know how to use it well, like me, you'll always know what everyone is saying about you. THE  GOOD  AND  THE  BAD.

It can also be very destructive at times. I thank God for using the technology over and over and over again to constantly give me a peak at REALITY so I can know how to govern my life and be very careful with friends and those I think are for me, moving forward.

If you've been terribly hurt by a friend or close loved-one, may I admonish you to put the matter in God's hands. Forgive, Forget and Learn from it.

God the Saviour, our closest friend for God is Not Like That.

Hope's Ahead!

Have MERCY On Us

And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. (Matthew 20:30 KJV)

God will have mercy once we ask for it.

Jesus had just completed a parable teaching before his journey up to Jerusalem. As he was departing with his disciples, the passage under review today tells us that two blind men called out to him for MERCY. The multitude of people around were rebuking them, but this didn't stop their persistent cries for MERCY.

Jesus hears their cries and approaches them and asks - "What will ye that I shall do unto you?" Matthew 20:32

Having made their request to the master, Jesus had compassion on them. "Matthew 20:34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him."

Just as Jesus performed this miracle on the two men - he is itchy to perform a miracle in your life too. If there is a lesson we can learn from the blind men, it is this - Don't Stop Asking God for What You Want. Be Persistent!

You are not bothering him. You are not hegging him. You are not being a pest. If it's mercy you want - then it's mercy you'll get once you ask. Take your situation before the Lord and continue to do so. In his time, he will come through for you for he is MERCIFUL!

Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. (Isa 59:1)

STAY  HOPEFUL!

Stand Still And See

You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'" (2 Chronicles 20:17 NIV)

WOW -  What a Word!

Imagine being the leader of a country and having to prepare for war. You get your best men together and prepare your best artillery. Honestly, you don’t know how the war will go - whether your nation would be victors or victims – then a stronger force says to you – You Will Not Have to Fight This Battle!

I would be utterly astonished, grateful, excited and tearful all in ONE.

Well. . . .that is just what God is saying to you here and now. He has seen your tears. He has heard your prayers. He feels your struggles. He sees how fast your heart beats at times. He knows you are trusting in him and you need him RIGHT NOW. RIGHT NOW.

Today, God’s words to Judah and Jerusalem are His words to you. Stand Firm and See the Deliverance of the Lord!

Dare 2 Be Different’s Prayer for this reader: “Dear God, We thank you for the free access that we have to your throne. Your word clearly states that when we call on you, you will answer. We ask you Lord to show up right now in the midst of the situation of this reader and PROVE that you are still a DELIVERER. Prove that you are STILL GOD - LARGE AND IN CHARGE AND YOU DEFEAT ALL ENEMIES  AND  FOES  AND PUT THEM ALL TO  PUBLIC SHAME!

Just how you helped Daniel, just how you were there for Joseph, just how you were the fourth man in the fire with Shadrach, Mesach and Abednego, we ask you to appear and deliver again starting from TODAY. May your Holy Spirit continue to minister and encourage this reader if they are saved and have their FULL  FAITH in you and if they are not, grant them your grace and mercy as they receive you even now and seek after SPIRITUALITY, not religion and tradition.

We declare things are already better FROM  TODAY in Jesus Name – Amen.”

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you. (2 Chronicles 20:17 NIV)
