And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. (2 Ch 20:15 KJV)
"When your back is up against the wall, God has a way of bringing deliverance!" Those were some of the God-sent words delivered by Reverend Hilton Joseph of the Zion Moravian Church at yesterday's Friendship Service at The Unique Touch Christian Centre in Sandy Point, St. Kitts. http://www.utccskn.org/.
There are two types of preachers. 1. The boasting, full of him/herself preacher who speaks from his own self and 2. A God-sent messenger who speaks thus saith the Lord. When Reverend Joseph entered the sanctuary, I could have seen his constant dependence on God to use him to speak thus saith the Lord. Even before he took the microphone, he was engulfed in a spirit of worship. He later humbled himself before God, knelt by his chair and spent some time in prayer.
When he took the microphone after a short introduction. He was READY and I'm positive the devil was trembling in his quarters.
"Can you imagine? An host of army came to make war against Jehosophat. This sounds like many of us today. When we look around, there is trouble on everyside. There is something I want you to know though. Jehosophat was able to win the battle because of prayer and fasting. Fasting and prayer causes God to show up."
Rev. Joseph ensured that he stressed that God's people are different people. He used 1 Peter 2:9 to drive that point home. "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"
"Together we are better because we choose to be different! Together we are better because we choose to be obedient." Those words sent shivers up my bones because they fell right in line with Dare 2 Be Different's - http://www.d2bdifferent.com/ motto. The Reverend was sure to stress that deliverence comes after obedience and total dependence and committment to God.
He used Jehosophat's example of humbling himself before God and leading out in a fast and in prayer as he depended on God for deliverance. Rev. Joseph suggested that this is just what we ought to do too when we want God to deliver us out of our struggles.
A preacher isn't a preacher unless he warns and behooves his/her audience to be better and stand out. Rev. Joseph suggested that certain things ought not to be.
"Imagine, believers are in work places and co-workers don't know they are believers because their attitudes are the same - because they don't produce quality work. This ought not so to be. We must stand out as God's people."
In closing, the Reverend reminded his audience that God has a way of bringing deliverance because once we are totally committed to him, the battle is not ours, but God's!
"After the war, Jehosophat and his people spent three days - three days to gather up the spoil that the enemies left then they rested."
Friend, this was certainly a word for me. I would be very selfish not to have shared it with you through this medium. Note well, just like King Jehosophat and his nation were triumpant because they depended totally on God, so too WE WILL BE TRIUMPHANT TOO when we depend totally on him. Our trials and storms and struggles won't last forever. God will fight for us and WIN - DEFINITELY.

That was a word from the Lord intended just for me. I felt like running back and forth, but if I did, I would miss out on writing so I could share some key points with you today, and you wouldn't get to view this video clip on youtube of the Reverend ministering.
