Friend, what if you had only one hour left to live on the face of the earth? How would you spend your last sixty minutes?
I have a friend who is quite optimistic about life and never likes me or anyone else to ever talk about anything negative. He only wants to hear of happy experiences and only wants anyone around him to talk of great future plans. I like his spirit. It is quite similar to mine. Quite importantly though, is that we all live and there will come a time, unless God comes back for his world before, THAT WE WILL ALL DIE! FACT!
Some of us make the best use of our life. We ensure that we get an education or get a skill that will be able to help us earn and live a comfortable or prosperous life, while others waste their precious life away.
Some of us keep trying to accomplish all our dreams while others just sit idly by and don't even dream. Some of us aim to drive the most expensive vehicles and build the biggest homes and save the most money while others just struggle from day to day all their life.
There is a particular thing that I've noticed when someone is coming to the end of their life though. Nothing secular that they've acquired or done in all their life really matters. You never hear someone dying on their bed ask to be driven for a last time in their Hummer or BMW. You never hear someone paralyzed and dying asked to be put in the Master Bedroom in their large house. You never hear the supervisor or CEO ask to be taken back to his office to finish the last uncompleted task before he/she passes on.
Am I wrong?
Those who love and know the Lord as their personal saviour are usually better prepared for the passing. I sometimes hear them singing or smiling or see them lay peacefully. Yes, as a Minister of The Gospel, these are the things we have to sometimes painfully watch, yet be the TOWER OF STRENGTH for the family. Others who never accepted Jesus. sometimes humble down and accept Him, while others swear their way away into HELL. I did hear of someone who did that. Have you?
I know that Jesus is gracious and merciful and forgiving, but why give him the dregs of your life on your dying bed when you can give him all the energy that you have now? Why lay dying wishing you had forgiven someone when you can do it now? Why live angry when you can let Jesus give you a new peace TODAY?
If you have one hour left to live, nothing would really matter to you except where you are going after. I am quite certain that while some people are dying, they wish they hand made amends before with a family member or co-worker or church member etc.
Don't be caught in that predicament when you have time now to accept Jesus and live for him. The truth and reality is that we don't know who will die peacefully at home on their bed and who will be murdered or get a HEART ATTACK. That's the COLD TRUTH! We don't know who will get a sudden heart attack or who will be mistakedly or willfully poisoned by a close friend or even a SPOUSE just to get your LIFE INSURANCE in these trying times. We don't know who would succumb to a stroke or who would be diagnosed with cancer and die one or two or three weeks after.
We are ALL called to be READY. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. (Luke 12:40 KJV)
There is a GREAT HOPE in heaven waiting for those of us who repent and decide to follow God's leading. Hope is Ahead for you - will you accept it TODAY?
