At the end of May, 2008, I resigned as President of The Antioch Baptist Church Training Union where I served dozens of children for years and severed ties with the ministry, in order to start Dare 2 Be Different International - www.daretobedifferentskn.com, a new, outside the box, down to earth, REAL, NON-JUDGMENTAL, spiritual, NOT RELIGIOUS Gospel Youth Ministry, with a MISSION to not just impact The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, but to bless the world.
I won't tell a lie, writing such a letter to submit to my then pastor and making such a decision and such a move HURT DEEPLY within because that Baptist Ministry was all I knew about church work then. That Baptist Ministry gave me the proper grounding for the work I now do today.
I must say though, that when I look at where Dare 2 Be Different International - www.daretobedifferentskn.com is today, with branches in Kenya and Ghana Africa and applications to open hubs all around the world, thousands reading these devotionals daily and with a Dare 2 Be Different International (USA) Inc 501C registered already and making plans to bless America through youth ministry, crusades and more, I never regret being OBEDIENT to the calling of God and MAKING A MOVE.
I have always had to fight many battles all my life. In school, in relationships, in church, in business, in politics.
To me, RELIGION is nastier than POLITICS. Very nasty things were said about me privately and publicly because of my new Dare 2 Be Different International GODLY move and with the aid of technology, I got to hear some things and who were saying certain things, but TO GOD BE THE GLORY. Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
Look at where Dare 2 Be Different International is today. At age 7, we are making a global impact and we give the GLORY TO GOD and GOD ALONE as we continue to carry out our global expansion plans.
Why are we where we are? Simply because having dedicated to IMPACT GLOBAL YOUTHS as one of our missions, we stuck to Jesus' teaching and example in Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
We do not drive children and youth away. We do what Jesus did. We give them LOVE, CARE and ATTENTION. That's just what the youth of today need. Just imagine, because we primarily deal with youth in NEED, we do not or CANNOT at the moment collect any TITHES OR OFFERINGS, yet GOD makes a way through partnerships such as yours, to ensure that after EVERY Dare 2 Be Different International Event- www.daretobedifferentskn.com in St. Kitts, we feed dozens of YOUTH FOR FREE and we collect NO TITHES AND OFFERINGS. Just imagine that.
God just keeps connecting our ministry with people like YOU, who read, watch our ministry pictures and follow us and help in little or big ways. A BIG THANK YOU FOR NOT JUST READING , BUT FOR HELPING TOO.
To the person who read and gave 4 lbs of flour just the other day so that we can make Pizza and to the person who bought a sun quick and two Koolaids and sugar to make punch, we say a hearty thank you.
To the person who picked limes from their tree and came by to make lemonade just before Bible Study sometime back - THANK YOU.
To the person who periodically buys pastries such as raisin rolls, buns, cookies from bakeries and surprise us periodically, A BIG THANK YOU.
To the person who walked into my home, business and ministry yard struggling with 10 lbs of drumsticks and some bags of fries for the youth to get chicken and chips - THANK YOU. Nothing is ever too small or too big to give and support our ministry - to SUPPORT THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Our world's youth honestly don't need another expensive mobile phone, tablet, laptop or desktop and expensive clothes and shoes. Such things just leave them empty and longing for YOUR LOVE, CARE AND ATTENTION STILL.
Children and youth, no matter if they are fifteen or sixteen or seventeen years old and playing like they are all big now and know it all, THEY CRAVE THE LOVE, CARE AND ATTENTION of their parents, their guardians and spiritual leaders who will not use and abuse them and MOLEST THEM.
God longs for more people globally to stop sitting on their laurels doing and accomplishing NOTHING under stagnant ministries around the world and get up and join a MINISTRY that is doing and accomplishing great things for Christ or to start their own.
Our youth around the world need help. Our youth around the world NEED YOUR HELP!
All Our Youths Need Is Love, Care And Attention; food, shelter, clothing and they will SHINE and SHINE and SHINE.
I do hope you recognize this URGENT NEED and join the GOSPEL MOVEMENT to make a difference in a child's life somewhere on planet earth.
