Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22 KJV)
Jesus Does Care!
Among the many hymns we sang at church as a young boy growing up, there is one that particularly comforted me and made me sing even louder. I was happy that the hymn writer, Frank E. Graeff, carefully included this chorus when he penned this hymn in 1901.
Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.
It was quite exciting to learn during my research for this devotional, that even way back in the early 1900s, people learned to LEAN ON GOD FOR COMFORT. I believe Graeff realized that no one else could have brought help and comfort but Jesus himself as he went through his trying time.
In doing more research, I learned that all of Mr. Frank E. Graeff's life wasn't spent going through trials. As he triumphed throughout life, always depending on Jesus' CARE, he was a successful pastor and a writer who penned over 200 hymns and a novel. He lived a bright happy life and was known as the "SUNSHINE MINISTER" for his OPTIMISTIC ATTITUDE.
You too can and will overcome once you STAY HOPEFUL and depend on Jesus' CARE. Others have passed this same way before and made it safely through with God's CARE. You can too. It is comforting to know that God encourages us ALL, to cast our burdens upon him and he will take care. He will sustain. God goes on and says, once we live righteous lives, we SHALL NOT BE MOVED.
Don't worry about the fact that no one else seems to care. JESUS CARES.
OH YES HE CARES!
